Modernissima, anticonformista ma anche nobilmente morale -- e mai moralista -- ed esemplare. Benvenuti a Sarajevo racconta l'amore di chi è padre, di chi non vuole più essere figlio, la passione per il proprio lavoro. E racconta una guerra atipica. Parliamo di Bosnia, di ex Jugoslavia, di Balcani, di atrocità commesse a pochi chilometri dal nostro paese. Il regista si conferma conoscitore delle contraddizioni individuali e collettive del mondo attuale, raffinato direttore d'attori -- chiedete a un poker come Stephen Dillane, Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei e Goran Visnjic cosa ne pensa --, originale compositore di musica e immagini.
